Hiya,

It could be a foreign body has wedged itself in the nasal passage or it may well be RNS, which can move into the lungs and become very serious if not treated, usually with Batryl. You really need to take both of your tortoises to a specailist vet to get them checked out. May I ask where you got them from please?

Kindest Regards

Hiya,

Unfortunately, tortoises from the pet trade have a much higher rate of problems than from a genuine UK breeder due to where they are sources and the because they are kept with so many other tortoises - only one needs to be ill and if spreads:-(

There are a couple of good vet lists:-

Is you tortoises in a vivarium, Horsfield tortoises aren't good in a vivarium due to an almost one-temperature environment and also the high humidity will cause respiratory problems. Here are some care sheets that will hopefully help:-

Ideas for set-ups:-

Hope you can find a vet close to you. Whilst they are at the vets, it would be worth getting the vet to check stool samples for parasites as they are quite common in tortoises from the pet trade. Please feel free to ask any questionsClick and drag me down to the editor
