Hi Bob
was it definately mucous, or maybe some water? I think if it was me I would see if it happens again tomorrow and if so, then a trip to the vet as it could be either he has got a foriegn body in the nares or it could be the start of RNS which will need some antibiotics. Don;t worry as you seem to have caught whatever this could be early.  Goes to prove how important these baths are doesn't it, not just for hydration but for health checks.
Can I ask what species is he and how are keeping him?

Hi, he seems much better today, no bubbles or wetness at all, he is a horsefield, 5yrs old, i keep him in a tortoise table with sand/soil substrate and uv, heat lamp an 12+ hours a day although i kept them on last night to make sure he was warm enough, he ran for his food as usual this morning, must have got a little water in his nose when i bathed him or something??? i'm keeping a very close eye on him, poor thing, was quite scary.

Hi Sorry just picked up read.

Glad that it has stopped, personally I think it was a bit of water, this happened to mine once, I went on line and scared myself half to death as it was saying that it was probably pneumonia that was be the cause of the bubbles out of her nose, I rushed her over to the vet, but she had just swallowed too much water and it came out of her nose!! Click and drag me down to the editor  I am starting to get a bit more rational with mine now and have learnt not to panic so much.
