Are Horsfield supposed to have Red in their shell? I have just seen a pic of a tort, on my Fb. they both have reddish shells. Is that normal?

Hi Claire, no Horsfields dont have red in their shell, it may be the tort needs to see a vet, as it could be internal bleeding (a kind of bruise) or septicemia. Hopefully its just the flash on the camera.

Hi Viv

Im afraid its not, The shell is red aswell as the skin on face and legs. Discussed with Dave and he suggested the same...Septicemia
