Cleaning out indoor enclosure

I wasn't sure where to place this thread hope it's ok here! I have'nt seen anyone ask this question so here it goes..How long do you leave it till you clean out and replace topsoil? I have been doing this monthly, Do you think this is adequate or do I need to do it earlier?

Hi Claire,

I tend to do my lot every 7-8 weeks and just clear up the poo's the rest of the time, obviously if you are keeping quite a few together then it would need cleaning on a regular basis.

Hi
I do Keya's pen about every 8-10 wks. She does a wee in the bath every morning and like Ali I take the poo's out when they appear. When I do a change I take everything out (stones slab etc) and wash down with F10 (Pet antiseptic) before I put new substrate and everything back. Keya then spends the day racing around and sniffing everything in sight and trying to nibble everything. When she feels that her presence is back in the pen she settles down again.
