Hi, It sounds like he may have an eye infection. What substrate are you keeping him on as some can cause an eye irritation? You need to get him to a vet who will most probably prescribe Tiacil which is a anti-biotic liquid. Ali

hi Ali, he is a herman tortoise ( i forgot to mention that) i keep him in a 3 ft glass vivarium and he has nutrition pellets to eat and eats healthy greens like cabbage and kale and spinach. ( he was bought for me and the vivarium too) hope this isnt bad for him, x

Hi Lindsay, Im afraid this is bad for him, both the diet and the vivarium set up. Tortoises do not do well in a glass vivarium and this could also be contributing to the bad eyes he is suffering. You need to read the section on "enclosures" on here, you will find this on the lefthand side under "The Tortoise". He needs to be in a table top set up in order for the air to be able to circulate, a subtrate of playpit sand/soil is the best substrate. The diet is not good either and pellets are a big no no for any tortoise. Please take time to read our Hermanns caresheet where you will find all need to know, you can find this here http://www.tortoise-protection-group.org.uk/site/80.asp Please feel free to ask if you have anymore queries.
