Mature male HermannsTortoise (Nigel) - Runcorn Cheshire
Posted: 09/08/2009 by TPGDarren

We are looking for a home for Nigel, a mature male Hermanns Tortoise.  Nigel has lived together with two N. African Spur-Thighed Tortoises – also listed – for a number of years.  He is currently in Runcorn, Cheshire, though there is no preference as to what location Nigel are rehomed to – so long as a good long-term home is found.  If you would like to be considered to rehome Nigel, please contact the rehoming team at rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk with the email subject line 'Nigel – Hermanns - Runcorn".  Please do not apply through this forum. The rehoming application form can be found in the Rehoming Section of this website:-

http://www.tortoise-protection-group.org.uk/site/131.asp

you will need to download it into your documents, complete it and attach it to your email. If you experience any problems, please let us know, and if you have already completed an application, please let us know when you apply. Please note: There is no fee charged for re-homing but we hope that if you are successful in your application, you will consider a donation to help towards the TPG's work. Please be assured that any donation no matter how small will be spent working towards making a lasting difference to tortoises. Not all tortoises that we have rehomed in the past have required veterinary treatment, however occasionally this has occurred; therefore as a non profitable group we rely on your generosity to help our cause.

Kindest Regards
Darren

There are keepers who have groups of males living seemingly happily together, unfortunately more often than not their competitive instincts kick in - just in case a female passes by.

Ok that's fine, most of the rehoming team are on holiday this week, they will be going through all the applications on their return.  This takes a while as you can imagine sifting through them to make sure we find the best possible home.

Thanks for your interest and patience

Regards Vivienne

Click and drag me down to the editor - I understand fully we all need a holiday lol. Thank you for mentioning that as I remembered getting an email about email problems so was worried. Excellent. I look forward to the verdict and fingers cross their arrival in sunny Wrexham

Hello,

I have sent an application for Nigel. In the content of my email I have said that I would like to re-home one tortoise, but I see quite a few on this site that are in my area. I was wondering if you anyone knows if I would have to send an application and email for each individual tortoise or if an explanation in the body of one email with an attached application will be ok?!

Hi Charlie

We really only need one completed application form from you, unless of course things change and you would like update your details.  If you are interested in applying for a tortoise, please email the rehoming team letting us know which tortoise/s you are interested in, and also that you have already sent in an application form.

Hope this helps

all the best

Hi Charlie

The Rehoming Team dont always get the time to check the forum daily, but they do always check their emails.  For that reason, and to make the administration simpler,  if you are interested in rehoming any tortoise/s, please email the team at rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk with the details of the tortoises you are interested in,

Many thanks

I have had my tortoise for over 30 years and still going strong, I would love to offer a home to Nigel. It would be great for both tortoises to have company.
