Does anyone know where I can buy a Horsfield from near the Isleworth, Middlesex area? I have seen a few online and have been to a few pet shops but they didn't make me feel welcome and didn't spend much time with me in talking about the toroise.

An extremely high percentage of tortoises sold by pet shops, internet dealers etc are imported into the UK and may well have been sourced from the wild. We have had many reports of parasitic contamination and health issues with imported tortoises. Much of the advice supplied by pet shops is absolutely appalling.

Hi again

Have you checked the breeders list on this forum, if you haven't then it's definately worth a look. I got both my horsfields from a breeder recommended on this site and I have two happy and healthy torts and I can contact her at anytime if I'm worried or just have general queries. It is far better and safer than buying from a pet shop or internet site. I think the list is under  "buying a tortoise". Don't be put off by any extra travelling you may have to do to get your tort from a good breeder. It will always be worth it.
