Mr Brown not feeling well
Posted: 08/06/2009 by Debi

Hello guys hope you can help, Mr Brown ( two year old Hermans) is not himself, my husband noticed a wee he did a few days ago was slightly red, he then began to move really slowly and seemed to be dragging his back end around, his shell was nearly touching the floor, i also noticed he made a slight sneezing sound when he was in his bath, he did a poo then seemed to be a little better, walking better but still slowly, and sleeping a lot, at the time of the red wee he had been spending a lot of time in the garden and my hubby said he ate a lot of huneysuckle....not sure if this would make his wee red, i have been bathing him twice a day and he has wee'd a couple of times, both ok with white paste like urates, but he made a sqeeking sound this morning when i went to pick him up for his bath, he is eating ok, but still seems to be moving very slowly , he is not dragging his shell but he definatley not himself.....any advice appreciated

Many thanks

Hi Debi,

It sounds as though it could be a problem with his hemipenis, which may be prolapsing or grazed. I would be inclined to take him to the vets possibly for a endoscopic examination and a general check-up.
There is a list of recommended vets under "Vets and Health Issues"

Kindest Regards
Darren

Thanks Darren, i dont know what that is but it sounds very serious, he does seem happier today, and seems to be walking better, i am worried about how stressed i might make him if i take him along to the vet , do think i should still take him even though he seems a lot better than he was at the weekend....I've got the details of a spec.vet near to us from your info so thanks for that.

Cheers,

Debs

Hi Debs,

If he's passing blodd it may just have been a graze, but it could be something more serious, so I'd advise taking him for a check-up just in case.

Glad he's feeling better
