i have a baby herman tortoise ,her front leg seems like it is stuck in the shell,she seems ok , any suggestions please

Hi, and I'm sorry your little Hermanns is not well. Do you mean that all her other legs are out but one is retracted into the shell? I'm not sure what to say about that, and I hope someone more experienced will come along with advice. Do you have a photo you could send us? How old is she, and how long have you had her?

all other legs are fine she seems to be trying get the leg out but it wont move,she is six months old i,ve had for three months

Have you tried gently easing the leg out?  This once happened to one of my leopard tortoises and I had to gently ease the leg out on several occasions and then it just seemed to right itself.

I'm assuming there isn't any obstruction preventing the leg from coming out?

I know how difficult it must be with a tortoise that small. If you can't gently ease the leg out, then I think you really need to get her to a good tortoise vet a.s.a.p. Where do you live? If you click on Vets in the UK, towards the bottom of the list in the left-hand column, you will find a list of recommended tortoise vets. If there isn't one near you, let us know and we'll see if we can find someone for you. I do think it should be a reptile/exotics vet rather than an ordinary vet, as these small tortoises need careful handling. Fingers crossed that we can sort her out soon.
