80+ year old herman lethargic and not eating after hibernation
Posted: 23/05/2023 by SandyMac

Adopted from TPG at around 50years Herman spur thighed female. Always kept in summer roaming garden, hibernated successfully for last 30 odd years. This year she awoke as usual and I put her in garden. She does not appear to be eating any offerings like cucumber, tomato, peas, cabbage or lettuce. Thought maybe dehydrated and have been bathing her twice a week in warm water. She appears to drink and has deposited 2 lots of  urates (?) in water. Looks like she may regurgitate bit of water back up after a while. She is bit lethargic and hangs head out to rest a lot.  Any ideas?  Looked in her mouth and saw couple of red dots but nothing else.

Cannot afford expensive vets and not sure what they could do to help?  Any suggestions or advice appreciated for home remedy. Thanks
