Tort cant open his jaw to eat
Posted: 25/03/2017 by rufus_mama

hi there, i'm Caroline and new to the forums.

I hve ahorsefield named Junior.

ok so...i noticed quite recently he hasnt been eating.
on closer inspection, i see his mouth is slightly ajar.
when i put food to his mouth or in his viv or on the living room floor, he doesn't open his mouth.

He lurches forward to almost TRY to eat and cant open his bottom jaw.

ive had him 2 weeks.
hes 5 months old
brought from a legit breeder.

ive been watering him/bathing him which he loves so much.

He did have a cuttle fish in his viv..and he has had little tumbles.

i threw the cuttle fish away.

going to the vets tomorrow-hoping he can mend his jaw .

anyone had this or similar?
i know their bones are soft still.

thank you for ready/replying

Hello,

There are many pretend 'breeders' of horsfields who are in fact selling wild caught imports.
Who is the 'breeder' & what do they have to say ? You should not be having to visit a vet after 2 weeks !!
What food are you offering it ?
Why is it in a viv ?

Tom
