| Hi, I hope someone can advise. My daughters Indian star tortoise(about 8 months old), has got some scab type flakes in its skin folds on rear legs. It doesn't look like normal shed as it's a brown/red colour, although it has the same texture. It's attached to the skin, but flaking like shedding skin. Anyone seen thus before? | |

| Hi, tried to take a picky but he wouldn't let me. He's otherwise healthy but does seem to find it difficult to stretch it out. Will try again after he's had a rest. | |

| I've added a photo but it's a bit out of focus, you can just see the flake poking out, it doesn't look infected, or have any unusual smell. | |

| We've had him since the end of March. | |

| Here's another one, we took him to the vets with this one and he seemed to think it was ok. It looks like a blister on the photo but it's more like a scabby bit coming off. | |

| Thanks, but as you can see yourself if you click on the pics, it's out of focus, so impossible to see. Was it from a breeder or a dealer ? | |

| From a pet shop, I'll try again tonight after work to get some piccies. He does seem fine in himself and is moving around the viv well. http://www.warringtonpetsandexotics.com  This is their website, we did go to the store. | |

| OK don't worry if pics are diff., If the vet has checked, it should be ok. I don't want to worry you, but a high %age of torts in the pet trade have probs., which can take a long time to become evident. Have a look at the "Vets & ……." box, to see where the nearest 'reptile' vet is, in case of future problems. Tom | |
