"Cracks" in the shell
Posted: 02/04/2013 by alibannani

I'm beginning to get a bit concerned over my little one's shell condition. Her shell is not completely smooth - she has some minor pyramiding which has been oked by vets but the join between the platelets seems to have separated along the center and there is now a deep groove there... i'm concerned but don't know if i should take her to the vet or not...

You say you are "concerned." In that case I would take it to the 'vets' in case there is a problem and for your own peace of mind. It could be new growth, if she is feeding well. Can you upload a photo clearly showing the 'problem'. Without a good pic it's not possible to give further advice, Tom
