8/9 Year old Female Hermanns, based in North Yorkshire requires a new home
Posted: 04/02/2013 by TPGDarren

We have a 8/9 year old female Hermanns available for rehoming, located in the Middlesborough/Stockton-on-Tees area. No evident problems. The current keeper inherited her eight years ago and is finding it difficult and would rather she could go to someone who could give her the time and attention she deserves. She would prefer her to go with other tortoises, if possible

Hi Sharon,

TJ has already gone to her new home, but we are regularly getting more tortoises in for rehoming at the moment.

Here is a guide on how to foster a tortoise from the TPG. Please take time to read all the information. Firstly you will need to submit a registration form which can be downloaded from the TPG website here:
http://www.tortoise-protection-group.org.uk/site/131.asp
If you have any difficulty downloading the form, please drop us a line at
rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk and we will send you a form in e-mail format. All you have to do then is hit reply, fill in the form and send it back to us at rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk. Please note that registration forms will not be accepted without photos (these can be sent in a separate e-mail), these should document where the tortoise will go to warm up, suitable grazing areas, shed/greenhouses/coldframes etc. This will allow us and the current keeper to make the best match for the tortoise(s), ensuring continuity of care, which is paramount. If you have more than one species, please label the photos so we know which species are kept in what areas.
Once we have received your registration form, we will then upload your details into our database for future reference so you won't have to submit this information again. We would be grateful however if you inform us of any changes to your current circumstances e.g. house move or any changes to accommodation/where the tortoise(s) will spend their time.

Once you have registered, details of tortoises available can be found on:-

If you see a tortoise that you are interested in fostering, you will simply need to make us aware of it by emailing
rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk We will then contact you if we and the current owners think you are a suitable match.
Be aware that not every email is answered as we get so many responses, please don't be put off by this.

HTH
Darren
