Pooing his insides out
Posted: 12/07/2011 by Mike

Hi Guys,

Really worried about Sebastian my 3year old horse field, notices he was straining to poo today and it looked like he was pooing out his intestines. Long Grey sack came out of his tail couple of cm long. After he finally managed to squeeze a poo out he sucked it all back up inside however I am terrified for him. Please advice on what is happening to him : (

Hi Mike
It is hard to know whether it was a prolapse, which luckily went back inside, or he was a bit frisky, either way I think you need to get him checked out with a tortoise vet, as they are the only ones who can say exactly what is happening. Have a look on the vets and health issues on the left. Let us know how you get on?

He’s got the all clear, Turns out it was his Member .Guess he must have really liked the peas

A few other issues that I wasn't aware of but nothing a sprinkle of calcium dusk and a few drops of cod liver oil won't fix.

Thanks again for the support, much appreciated.

Hi Mike

I guessed it was that but without seeing it personally always best to get a specialists advice. Thanks for letting us know the outcome and really glad it wasn't a prolapse
What was the cod liver oil for?
