advice needed on tortoise set-up and feeding

hi i have just purchased a spur-thighed tortoise baby off a lady who brought it off her friend
it is a baby and i have been reading up and have notice that the set-up i have is wrong he has been in this set-up since being brought
he is in a 2ft viv with heat mat and what looks like a normal light bulb as heat and wood chipping and was told hes been fed on cucumber and tortoise mix
please could u give me advice on what he should have as a home

Yes you are correct, the set is not one that is recommended for torts, and over a period of time will cause all sorts of health problems. I have put the link from the care sheets for you to read, and then fire away with any questions.
It will be best if you take the heat mat out straight away, and remove the wood chippings as they can cause impaction if digested. For emergency measure put newspaper until you can get 50-50 topsoil and play sand mix for the substrate, these can be brought from most DIY stores e.g B&Q. 
you will need an open top pen, for a quick solution (maybe permanent) you could use a wooden drawer or a indoor rabbit cage. Anyway best have a read first and all this will make more sense to you.  Your little one is lucky you found him, happy reading

hi. you must change your tortoises diet its eccential! they need a varied diet .try weeds, occasional tomatoe,rocket ect
