You will need to remove these chipping out of your torts environment straight away, they can cause quite alot of damage. The best substrate you can use is a 50-50 mix of topsoil & play sand, just check the topsoil through first as some have been known to contain debris. Personally I would even put newspaper down until you can get to the shop rather that keeping them with the wood chippings, just mind the area with lamp as the paper could catch fire. The paper  is a very temporary urgent measure until the next day....
