Hello - How do you age a tortoise and how long do they live? My tortoise was a 4th birthday present to my late husband who would have been 48 now. It is not known how old she (the tortoise) was at this time. This year she is very altert and active - almost sprinting across her cage!

There is no way to age a tortoise apart from looking at wear and tear for a very rough estimation. What species is he/she?
