We have a friendly 3 year old male T.gg for rehoming. He is 150mm in length and weights in at 575g which is very light so will need overwintering this year to build him up. The owners had followed PET SHOP directions hence the rapid growth: pyramiding is evident. He has had access to the garden on sunny days and eats weeds freely. The past owners are very fond of Jimmy and would like to know how he gets on in his new home. They have given him up in order to gain a better life style so if you feel that you can meet Jimmy's needs please apply to rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk or through the contactus@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk Please put Jimmy Kent Tgg in the subject line.

Hey, Jimmy look's lovely, i would love a tortoise like him, Is he well as he's shell is rather lumpy? is that due to the high protiene diet which the petshop recommended.

Hi Curtis I don't keep this species so I'm not sure, but I think possibly. I'm sure Elaine will be along soon and let you know. Have you expressed an interest to rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk for this tortoise yet as you will need to let them know of your interest? Helen

The pyramiding is due to a combination of things (all man made). First being kept in a viv, no variation in tempretures, lack of exercise for starters. He is healthy but his natural instincts of basking and being able to move freely have been 'wipped' out. Have you submitted an application form to our rehoming.@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk If you have any specific questions about Jimmy please e-mail me directly at elaine@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk thanks for your interest as he is a very friendly tort that is in great need of some TLC.

Sorry what species is JD as this is a Testudo graeca graeca and you should never mix species? There would also need to be a long period of quaritine before any animal could join JD for his own health as well as the new comers. HTH Elaine

Hi Curtis, I keep and breed this species and they are a sensitive tortoise. They like the quiet life, and the tempretures need to be right as with all species. If you go into the menu and click on The Tortoise you will then be able to see the care sheet for Tgg, have a read of this and if you have any specific questions then post them or e-mail me elaine@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk. Thanks for your interest Curtis, we will be deciding on a home once all our applications are in. Regards Elaine

Jimmy has now found a new home that will meet his specific needs. Thank you all for your interest in him and please, as always, keep viewing our rehoming section as there are sadly many tortoises coming up for rehoming still. Thank you Elaine
