hi has anyone tried the zoo med dimmable clamp lamps,what they like please,are they ok for light and heat,dont want all in one ones,

or are the strip lights better for my tortoise

I use either Solarglo, Megaray or Powersun combined lights (Heat & UV). I have not had experience in the Dimmable lights, can't see how they could work? sorry can't help you but interested to see what the advice will be.

As far as I can ascertain the dimmable clamp lamps are really just clamp lamps.

Best to purchase an all in one. If you go for the option you are talking of with a standard heat lamp & dimmer, you'll also have to purchase a separate dimmer unit a started motor for the UV tube and the UV tube (for the UVB).

Best, as Jane has said to go for the combined lamp m- it'll probably work out cheaper and at the same time last longer and produce better quality UVB.
