Eggs in wind-down
Posted: 12/12/2010 by lindsaybudgen

Please could someone advise me urgently!

My ibera female is at the moment laying eggs, two and a half weeks into wind-down.   I notice she has been chewing at the cuttlefish I have given her so she obviously needs the calcium.   I'm really concerned about whether I should be carrying on with the wind-down or whether I should feed her to build her up again as she will have used up all her reserves in the egg-laying?

And then if I do feed her should I build her up again and then start wind-down again in say, a month's time?

Hi Lindsay,

I would stop wind down as laying can really take it out of them. You could try again once she has got over this if she appears healthy.
