Found.

Tortoise in North Cornwall, about 7 inches in length, may have been loose for a while.  This tortoise has very distinctive markings so could be easily identified.

Hi, thanks for posting this. 

It would be a good idea if you contacted the http://www.thetortoisegarden.co.uk/ they are a tortoise rescue centre which is open to the public, I know they have had tortoises stolen this year, they may be able to help you find its owner and ID it for you.

You could also contact the wild life officer John Hayward from the National Theft Register for Zoological wildlife Investigations who runs a register of all such cases.  His contact details are:
