Tortoise Trust

Has anyone had difficulty in contacting the Tortoise Trust?  My partner paid to complete their course but, after submitting the 5th of 8 modules, he has been unable to contact them.  He has paid to do this course but cannot get a reply to any of the emails and the telephone number is 'not recognised'. I should be grateful for any help.

Regards, Midge

Hi Midge

are you emailing tortoisetrust@aol.com? This is the address Andy Highfield has given out on the TT forum. You could try posting your question there too.

Hi Midge, I am really sorry to hear of your experience. I was a member of the Tortoise Trust for years. There is no denying that they really do know their stuff, and were ahead of the game years ago! Certainly I do not want to start a forum war, but the following facts may be useful, 'though are in no way expressing an opinion or defaming anyone. When I asked a question about money I sent them, and  asked for a copy of their annual accounts, things went pear shaped for me. By return post I received a letter explaining that my membership was cancelled, and my subscription was returned.  I stress that this was quite a few years ago. There may now be an annually audited account available for members, I simply do not know. Their various publications are all scholarly and informative, so I hope your partner does succeed in completion of the course!

Ending on a more positive note,I must now state that since I joined the TPG only a couple of months ago, I have learned more useful info as a long time tort keeper...(for free), and had great contact with other members directly and indirectly, than I gained in years of membership in some other tortoise groups. This forum is so personal, yet relevant,  I am already getting lots of tips from caring keepers, both novices and those with years and years of collective experience, who are really easy to contact... and so supportive!  A big thank you to TPG Admin, and members who keep the forum real!      David in York
