Is there any other differences between a Hermann's and a Horsfield's apart from the Horsfield's have 4 claws? I brought my tortoise in Dec 08 from a pet shop. I didn't have much knowledge on tortoises and was informed that he is a Hermann's, but he only has 4 claws ... does this mean he's a Horsfield? Help please. | |

We did n't get any papers with our horsfield I think you do have them with Hermann???? | |

Yes Hermanns have papers but Horsfields dont require them (which is a terrible shame! but hopefully one day we can change that!). However, some unscrupulous pet shops dont always provide them! Vivienne | |
