Hi Nell, no I havent got insurance I believe 'Exotic Pets' (think thats what its called) do one, but try googling reptile insurance and see what comes up.

Regarding vets, click on 'vets and Health issues' on the lefthand column and it will direct you to our vet list, hopefully there is one by you

Hi Nell

I have insurance for my two, with Exotic direct. They are really good and very friendly. I have had to use them twice and never had any problems. I know some people put the money away in an account, probably because they have quite a few torts. For me it takes the worry away if I need anything to be done with my two, as they are insured up to 2,500 each per year for vet bills, and the cost of just x-rays and blood test is alot before you start.
Hope that helps

Hi Jane, that sounds good, are the premiums expensive?

Hi Vivienne

I pay £15.00 per month for the two of them. The way I looked at it, if I said that as from today I will start to put some money away to cover vets fees, and next week I need to take one or both of them to the vets, I probably wouldn't have enough money saved to cover the vet bills, plus if I did it would wipe the account out, and then I just hope I don't need the vet until I have saved up again. This way I never hesitate or worry if I think they need the vet, even emergency appointments. It gives me peace of mind. I don't really miss the money because I cancelled a direct debit that I didn't feel was as important as this one. My husband says that it is called Jane's logic and doesn't even try to understand it, only that it works, so he goes with it!!!

Hope that is helpful
