Hello there and welcome to the forum.

There are various options available to you. The two primary requirements a tortoise has is heat and ultraviolet (UVB) light. Indoors this can be provided either by a seperate heat and UVB bulb or tube or by a mercury vapour bulb which provides both. I personally use the combination bulbs. Several brands are very good such as megaray and T Rex.

For a tortoise table you will only need a 100 or 120watt combi bulb.

These really so take a lot of stress out of getting the setup correct for a tortoise. If you take a lok at the Horsfield caresheet under the "the Tortoise" button to the left of the page you will get an idea of the temperature and lighting duration for this species.

I must ask whether the wood chip substrate in the photo is used throughtout their table? Horsfields are a species that like to burrow and this in turn helps them to control their body temperature and hydration. You might considr changing some or all of the woodchip for a topsoil and playsand mixture which closly replicates their substrate in the wild.

Feel free to ask any furthr questions and enjoy your nee tortoise, they look great.

Thankyou Dave, and yes the woodchip is used throughout their table, this table came with the tortoises and after reading some of the forums ive decided that i will build a new home for them, the table is onlt 2ft x 16ins, i know they are only little fellas at the moment but im sure they will appreciate a bit more running space, so i will deffo swap some of the woodchip for topsoil and playsand that you advised....thankyou
