lost now found

Hi All,

I lost my beloved tortoise Shelby last year on September 9th 2009, I registered her with everyone, and was so distraught that I even tried re-homing and considered buying a new one. We searched everywhere for her, and virtually dug our whole garden up looking for her, to no avail. At 8am this morning (26th March) in front of my very eye’s, the garden that I had dug up began moving and out popped Shelby. I still can’t believe that she had hidden herself that well (and survived our horrible winter) and slept for over six months. She is in perfect health and needless to say I have bought her indoors to warm her up. I just wanted to send this to you as hope for anyone else that has maybe lost a tortoise, and can’t believe that they would be able to survive.

Yours Happily

Lorraine

Hi Lorraine,

What great news! It's so good to know that these little miracles do happen and I'm so happy for you and Shelby -- you must be over the moon!

I'm so pleased for you Lorraine, I can share your joy and amazement as my Taz, who we believed was stolen on the 4th September, popped up today right as rain also! Like you we had also dug over everywhere. 7 months sleeping whilst we thought the worse (little sod!).

Congratulations xx

It's such an amazing feeling, I still can't get over it! Would have been convinced the family have gone out and bought another one if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. I glad I'm not the only one. Well done to both of them for surviving.  No doubt we'll be watching the little darlings 24 hours a day from now on.

Congrats to Taz

Lorraine
