Outdoor enclosure
Posted: 09/03/2010 by HelenandBrian

I am still planning Brian's outdoor enclosure and want to create his outdoor area by my shed so he can go inside where I can set up a heat lamp for cooler days. My concern is that my garden faces north-ish and his planned outdoor area got the sun between 1pm and 6pm on Sunday, may be a bit longer in summer but not much.  Will this work for him? Also will I need to set up a UV light in the shed for him or will he get enough from the sun?

Thanks, Helen

Hi Helen,

My Horsfield enclosure hasnt much sun even in full summer although it does get better once the sun gets higher during the warmer months. They tend to find the best basking spot and know the best times too. Just make sure you keep the sunny areas free from plants or anything else that might shadow the sun
