has anyone ever used these and do they sound dodgy to you?

as i would hate the thought of my tort being a box delivered to my door who knows whats happens by the time it leaves them and gets to my door...it could be dropped or anything,so sad really

what do you think of this all or am i just being over protective tortoises mummy?

i know it may sound silly the questions i ask but just wondered if anyone thinks like me,or worrys about the torts in a box

I'll get my comments in quick before others speak their minds here on this subject :)....Sending a tort in the post is awful!! This should be banned!! Any animal lover would NEVER place an animal in a box and send in the post!! Yes you just dont know if the box containing the poor tort has been thrown about in the back of the van/ dropped, bashed about and so on...Imagine how distressed this tort would become? What sort of state would it be in when you open the box? I would never buy like this...Buy only from a recommended breeder FULLSTOP

ps Its not a silly question....Its because you are caring....

Click and drag me down to the editor oh good!!!

im so so glade im not the only one that thinks this... to be honest i was horrified when i came to find that people send torts in post or infact as you say any animal i just couldnt believe it and if you read there write ups on there sites it sickens you to think they sound like they care for the torts but clearly DO NOT, i also think if someone wants a tortoise they should get off there bum with out being rude that is...and have a look at them in person and meet the breeder also see how they are kept aswell as do lots of reserch before hand to find out about the speces etc. i just think its so sad and never knew this until the other day that you could sit on a computer and a click of a button and have a tort delivered to your door....SO SAD AND SICK!!! im with you this should be banned its horrible, quite sad really that this country will let people do this. check out the web site i gave in my last message they made there selfs out to be so caring and the post is well cared for...hhhmmm

sorry for moaning but it does make me angry im glade i have someone on my side.x

Another thing with this place is they dont advertise their age! They are saying what size they are! How odd...Shouldnt they be selling them by age if they came from a breeder, surely the breeder would know the age, If there is a breeder of course...I not sure there is to be honest..Youre probably not the only one to feel angry, upset by this...More should be done by our government, But our government dont give a damn!

Also why doesnt this place have a landline phone number for you to ring? Its a mobile they are using! Mmmmm....

Cumbria Police have charged a Carlisle man following an investigation into the illegal trade of endangered tortoises.

Yesterday, Wednesday 13 January, 35 year old Robert Struthers of Nelson Street, Denton Holme, Carlisle was charged with eight offences relating to the control of trade in endangered species and one offence relating to fraud.

This follows a three month joint investigation by a Cumbria wildlife crime officer and the National Wildlife Crime Unit into the illegal trade of endangered tortoise species from a business in the city.

Mr Struthers has been bailed to appear at Carlisle Magistrates Court on 28 January 2010.

Hi, have a look at the debate on a fellow forum that i'm part of. There has been some progress made in bringing this supplier to justice.
