Waking up 1 week early?
Posted: 15/12/2009 by Row

Hi,

No panic this time I promise!!!  I was just wondering whether there would be any disadvantages waking Twiglet up 1 week earlier so only being down for 7 weeks?

The only reason for this is that she was very very sleepy well before Tetley and is the smaller of 2 and also so that I can have 1 on 1 with each when waking them up?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Row,

I dont think anyone would argue with you for getting Twiglet up a week early Click and drag me down to the editor. Usually if its gone well and the weight loss has been minimal people think about extending the hibernation but I think you deserve a treat. It is also a good idea to give you a bit of time to monitor Twiglet.

I'm sure you're already well read on the wake up but just take her out of the fridge, I leave mine in their boxes and place the box in a warm room to allow the box, substrate and tortoise to come up to room temperature . Once you see some signs of awakedness, I put mine on their tables but not directly under the basking lamp and let them make their own way to it. Full basking temperatures and I only offer them a bath after they've had a good chance to fully warm up.

Hiya!

Thanks for reply.  I have read and re-read the wake up stuff already over and over again.  I didn't think it would be bad but just need that reassurance.

Can't wait to have them up and about again missing them loads!!! Only 3 weeks left now and theyv'e lost 1 gram each so really pleased.

Hi Row,

1 gram each is brilliant!

Bet you cant wait to get them up, its a lot easier then getting them down.

Dave.
