If you have one tortoise that you want to breed can you get another tortoise and let them breed.

Hi Ben, You'd need to ensure that the tortoises are of the same species, any new addition should be quarantined for a period of no less than 6 months. Good husbandry is the key, correct diet, heating, UVB, supplements etc. A settled healthy tortoise is much more likely to breed successfully. A 1:1 male:female ratio is likely to cause problems. Male tortoises are very persistent so you may have to separate him from a lone female, who will become stressed if she is unable to escape a male's attentions.
