Do you know what species you would like? or what age?

To persuade your other half is the easy part, but you need to ask yourself if you have the space for a tortoise table, for a young tortoise, and a secure garden area for them. Most people have secure enclosures safe from any other pets they may have. With young tortoises in a table top enclosure, the best thing to have is a meshed top to prevent the cats jumping in.

Hi Claire Click and drag me down to the editor

Im glad you find our website brill :-) Before you even consider buying a tortoise you really need to read up as much as you can on their husbandry needs as things have changed lots since your nan had one.  Firstly you need to find the right species that suits you. Please take time to read up on our caresheets, you can find these under "The Tortoise" in the lefthand column. We strongly advise people to buy from a reputable UK breeder only and not from a petshop but i feel you need to learn about them first and please feel free to ask anything, we area friendly bunch on here and always around to answer queries.
