Hi - has anyone used the Microclimate device which seems to be a ceramic heater with integrated thermostatic control?  Its available in various wattages and looks like it could be useful with tortoises.  Please let me know if you have tried one.

It looks very interesting! In my experience the equipment that Darren sells in Kimbos World is usually good and reasonably priced, so I'm going to try and find out more about it.

Hiya,

They look good for greenhouses and for heating outdoor accomodation. It might be worth checking out their consumption. I would imagine they are excessive for small indoor use and you would still require a UVB tube. Worth checking out though, as Nina said Darren's stuff is usually very good and reasonably priced.

I have not used theses myself but plan on setting one up and seeing how they perform.  That said i have sold a few and spoken to many people and do use them and the reviews are good. 

I would'nt recommend them to heat large spaces alone, but to deliver localise heat to a tortoise enclosure they are hard to beat.
