measuring tort

hi a quick question whats the best way to measure ya tortoise's is it head to tail or do you just measure his under shell? my tort weighed 48g when we got him on 10th aug weighed him 2 weeks later and was the same weighed him monday this week and weighs 50g is this weight gain ok? new to all this just .

Click and drag me down to the editor You put him on a piece of paper and push him head first towards the skirting board. He will put his head in his shell - but may put up a bit of a fight first! - and then using a pen mark the other end of his shell. Move him away and then measure distance.  Don't measure round his shell,
