Thanks

Your tortoise's shell if healthy and free from flaking, should never need to have any moisturiser, even if flaky that would be a different road that you would take under the instruction of a tortoise vet.  Being kept in the correct environment for that species will keep them healthy, plus plenty of baths to keep them rehydrated. Have a look at the care sheets that the TPG provide on the left hand side they  give you so much information, and then you will probably want to ask lots more questions!! happy reading

Hi, guys.  I just bought a baby Redfoot and the pet shop told me that the shell lotion was on of the necessities.  A sucker born every minute.  Should've done my research!

Does anyone know if babies shells need any/more care than adults?  My two adults don't seem to have any problems at all.  I keep them outside in So. Florida and don't give them calcium supplements.

Thanks, Pattie

Hi Pattie, no the babies shells dont need any extra care, just make sure you bathe the baby and they dehydrate very quickly, this will keep the shell clean too.
