Hi
I am thinking of getting another tort.
I have just been told that a one year old Spur Thigh will live quite happily with a one year old Herman. Is this correct please? I'm sure it isn't.
Thank you
Julie

Hi Julie,
You are right this isnt ok and different species should never be mixed as they come from different parts of the world and therefore their behaviour patterns are completely different. There is also a high risk of infection or diseases if you mix species.

Thank you Ali
I am so blooming cross. All people think about is a sale and making money. What about the welfare of these beautiful creatures.
I think I am going to stick to just the one tort now any way. My Alfie seems perfectly happy on his own - he is very bright and active. Makes me laugh though, he actually reacts when I speak to him - sticks his head up high. Don't you just love them.
Thank you again
Julie

Hi Julie,
Yes im afraid there are some dodgy people out there who want nothing more than to line their pockets with cash.
As long as Alfie is happy then all is ok but if you do decide to get another one we have a breeders list on here.
