Hi, I have just found this site and thought I'd join in and learn more about my babies I have 3 Marginated tortoises who are all under 5yrs old. My animal collection also includes 2 snakes,1 lizard, 4 chickens, 7 chicks, 2 cats, 11 guinea pigs, 1 dog and several fish , oh and 4 children and a hubby I'd love to hear from other marginated owners and see some pics to compare with. Also thinking of registering to rehome tortoises and hubby has agreed to get a greenhouse for my growing babies to live in and give me more space for extras

I don't have margies myself, but I have to say I think they are the prettiest tortoises - the adult males have those wonderful skirts of flared scutes at the back and look so elegant.

Hi Elly, I agree Margies are gorgeous, they are quite shy compared to other tort species.  I have four, two males and two females, I keep them in the greenhouse, they have a heated wooden hut in there, and access from the greenhouse into their own fenced off garden.
