Since the launch of our new website, we have been inundated with requests
from people who would like to re-home a tortoise through the TPG.   At
present we ask people to fill in a re-homing application, which is put onto
our re-homing database, and when a tortoise becomes available we review all
of the applications for that particular species.  As we do not wish to make
people wait a long time to re-home a tortoise, without any expectation of
when one might become available, we have decided to review the process.

In future we will announce on our two forums
http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/TortoiseProtectionGroup/  and
http://www.tortoise-protection-group.org.uk/ when a tortoise becomes
available for re-homing, and people who are interested in applying can
contact us at that point.

Please Note:  It will not be necessary to send us an application form in advance.
Applications already received will remain in our files.  If you are
interested in re-homing a particular tortoise that is advertised on the
forums, then do contact us, and mention that we already have your
application on file.  At that time you can add any material necessary to
update the original application (for example if your set-ups have changed,
if you have acquired more tortoises, etc.).

Applicants who have not previously sent us an application form will be sent
one by return of email, and all applications will be considered at the same
time.

We hope that these changes will result in a better service for all our
members.  Please note that it is a requirement that you are a member of the
TPG to participate in our re-homing service.
