Leopard - East Yorkshire
Posted: 03/03/2009 by tpgarlene

Hello

We have been asked to find a very special home for a very special leopard tortoise called Eddy.  His current owners bought Eddy about 5 years ago when he was very small, so he is now probably 6 - 8 years old.  This is a heartbreaking decision for his current owners, as they love him dearly, but they are unable to provide the space he needs - they genuinely want what is best for him, even though this means giving him up.  Eddy is a very friendly tortoise, likes people, loves having his head scratched, and will plod over when his name is called!  Eddys owners would like to stay in touch with the person who rehomes him - updates and photos would be very much appreciated.

If you would like to offer this tortoise a new home, please contact the rehoming team at rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk with the email subject line 'Leopard - East Yorkshire'.  The rehoming application form can be found in the Rehoming Section of this website, you will need to download it into your documents, complete it and attach it to your email.  Any problems, please let us know, and if you have already completed an application, please let us know when you apply.

Please note: There is no fee charged for re-homing but we hope that
if you are successful in your application, you will consider a
donation to help towards the TPG's work. Please be assured that any
donation no matter how small will be spent working towards making a
lasting difference to tortoises. Not all tortoises that we have
rehomed in the past have required veterinary treatment, however
occasionally this has occured, therefore as a non profitable group we
rely on your generosity to help our cause.

berst regards

Here are a couple of photos of Eddy.  He weighed about 3.5 lbs the last time his owner weighed him.

Eddy sounds like he could be quite a character. He would be a welcome addition to our family and would have the garden all to himself! If I could be sent further details, it would be very much appreciated. Although I live in East Anglia, I would be more than willing to go and collect Eddy. We have recently purchased a new camera, so I am sure he would become the subject of many pictures which we would happily send to his previous owners. Click and drag me down to the editor
