Hermanns for rehoming - Herts
Posted: 11/02/2009 by tpgarlene

Hello

We have been asked to find a new home for a juvenile hermanns called Toto, he is about 18 months old and approx 125g in weight.  His current owners have a dog which is showing too much interest in Toto, and have taken the very sad decision to rehome him.  I am calling Toto a him, but at this age he is too small to sex accurately.  We do not have photos yet, but will hopefully have some shortly, but he is currently kept in a tortoise table, with uv lighting.  Toto's owners would like to remain in touch with his new keepers, and it would be nice if they were fairly local so that there could be the occasional visit!

If you would like to offer Toto a new home, please contact us at rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk with the email subject line 'Hermanns Herts'.  The rehoming application form can be found in the Rehoming Section of this website, you will need to download it into your documents, complete it and attach it to your email.  Any problems, please let us know, and if you have already completed an application, please let us know when you apply.  Photos will hopefully be on the website soon.

Please note: There is no fee charged for re-homing but we hope that
if you are successful in your application, you will consider a
donation to help towards the TPG's work. Please be assured that any
donation no matter how small will be spent working towards making a
lasting difference to tortoises. Not all tortoises that we have
rehomed in the past have required veterinary treatment, however
occasionally this has occured, therefore as a non profitable group we
rely on your generosity to help our cause.

I would like to offer Toto a new home but I ideally would like two torts.  If I'm lucky enough to be chosen for Toto would it still be possible for me to adopt another one please ?    Best wishes.. Marilyn. x

Hi Marilyn,

Thanks for offering a home for Toto. If you want to apply to re-home him, please send a request to rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk and I will send you an application form (if you haven't filled in one already) and explain how the system works.

Many thanks
Nina

Hi Nina,

I was also interested in offering Toto a new home, but am having trouble sending a message via the link! We live in Banbury oxfordshire and are willing to travel.

We have filled in a re-homing form already, i lookforward to hearing from you.

Hi Lin

Not Nina but just to say the link Nina provided isn't live so please try this: rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk otherwise I'll draw your request to the attention of the rehoming team.

Hi,

I am willing to give Toto a new home but wondered if i was too far away for the owners to visit, I live in Wiltshire and already have a hermanns.

I have filled in an application a while back, If i'm too far out i'll understand.

Hi Suzanne,

You need to contact the rehoming emailc-- ( rehoming@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk )and Arlene (who is dealing with this re-homing) will get back to you -- I'm not sure yet how wide an area we are looking at for re-homing. I assume that you are the Suzanne who lives in Wiltshire, for whom we already have an application form on file, the but email on that form is different, so if you can email me with your full name and your preferred email, I'll double check that we have all your details on file. Email me at: nina@tortoise-protection-group.org.uk

Cheers,
Nina

Hiya

Arlene has asked me to upload some photos of Tota.  I'm sure you'll agree this is a really cute torty.  I'm sure it won't be too long before Toto finds a loving new home.
