Chip on tail end of shell

hi mrs brown .. Herman .. 8 years old , has today chipped the tail end of her shell very slightly .. she is walking round and eating as normal but it looks red like blood but only a small amount .. is there anything I should do ?? Thanks

Hi tom , no mr brown, think she's done it climbing rocks while out in the garden . .. it's first time she's chipped shell ☹️

Obtain a small bottle of iodine/ povi dine solution from a chemists.

Apply to the area daily for a week or two. It will heal eventually.

You state "while out in the garden" - if your garden is large, I'd make a wood sided enclosure of at least 15sqm & a house, so that it can stay out until hibernation.
