Thanks in advance

It's just for a bit of security I'm paying a good money for a heater that i will only use in the event I get the tortoises I was hoping to order it tonight but I've been waiting 2 days for a response to say that if I get the heater the tortoises are being adopted by me

Also I have followed protocol application form etc and have been sent am email basically stating they are large tortoises and need room outside to live but should be overwintered for the first year and I need to have these things in place.  I have suitable indoor accommodation ready and a greenhouse outside which I can install an electric heater would this be suitable the greenhouse is a colour green so no one can see inside so they are safe. I have sent pictures to back up my application form and have received this

Apologies for the repeated messages  I just feel like email take far too long to reply to and I'm afraid the tortoises will be rehomed to someone who has been a member for longer and have a full setup already

Regards
Debbie

Did you make contact via the Facebook Forum Debbie ? If so you would need to go back to that. If you receive no response within 24hrs let me know & I'll try to chase it.

Did the torts have names ?

It's too early to use a greenhouse as there will be cold weather to come.

Regards,
Tom

Hi tom

Many thanks for the reply I made contact via email about 2 weeks ago and we have been sending messages back and fourth but sometimes I am waiting fo up to 4-5 days for a response all the family really excited to got the torts and don't want to disappoint them.

The torts names where lindford and Christie and where in Sunderland

With regards to greenhouse I was told that they should be living outside however I thought more like putting them in there from about April-may until September- October what do you think about this.

Also the person I've been speaking to tends to reply Monday Tuesday Wednesday morning only so now the chances are I won't here anything till Monday.

Please try and help me

Regards in advance

Debbie

Have you sent photos ?

You will have to find an expert to trim their beaks if you get them as very overgrown in pics.

I'll leave it to them to advise you.

Hi tom

I've sent photos etc I did notice this although finding someone to do is a hard task will try though.

Also I'm aware you said in 24hrs you'll chase it but but I've still heard nothing back.
Who would be advising me further?

Regards

Debbie

I can't understand your 1st sentence Debbie,

Patience is a virtue !

I've chased it to the extent of speaking to an Admin' on F'book who stated Kay is a volunteer as are all of us. Why don't you ask her what heater ?

I've noticed they are both male, so could not be kept together. Are you aware of this ? Also are you aware that horsfields tunnel so are great escapers !! Not large by the way.

Simply stating I'll leave advice to Kay.

Hi tom

I'm aware yes and also aware that they aren't large and that they tunnel I already keep horsefields and have asked Kay all the questions like he heater but no answer I shall wait another day or two before attempting to email again. You're right patience is a virtue but at an exiting moment like this it sometimes doesn't work!!

Also my first sentence was stating that I'm aware about the beak trimming but finding someone to do it is a hard task as I'm not aware of any reptile vets perhaps the pdsa or vets4pets may do it.

Thanks for chasing it as well much appreciated

Regards

Debbie

No prob. Debbie,

She may have owners who are slow responders. It's good you have some already.

Ah understood you'd rolled two issues in one sentence. Trimming wouldn't be urgent. From reports I've had, I'd avoid vets4pets.

Let us know if you get 1, or both if you can cope with 2 males.

Hi tom

Many thanks for the advice I will avoid vets4pets. Also thanks for letting me know this wouldn't be urgent.
Also the torts seem to come from the same home and I've found that when 2 males grow up together they seem to get along fine together providing the are no females.

I will let you know when and if I get them

Regards

Debbie
