Med spur thigh tortoise. Reassurance wanted and advice on hibernation
Posted: 24/10/2016 by Sian789

Hi

I am new to the forum. We got our med spur thigh tortoise of a recommended breeder from this site. We bought the whole set up from them and have followed the recommendations. We have had our tortoise a year and a half roughly, he seems well, is active, feeds well and has baths. Unsure whether it is a boy or a girl. He or she seems to want to bite everything and everyone at the moment. Is this normal? Also we have not hibernated yet and I am so nervous about doing it and getting it wrong. The tortoise is only 2.5 years old. Is this too young to hibernate? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Sian

Welcome,

Your TPG breeder should ansa all of this.
Try them & come back if you need to.
It is not too young to hibe. for 3-4mth depending on a number of factors.

Tom
