Hi am getting a tortoise in a couple of weeks,have got an Arcadia 100w heat and uv bulb, but what height does it have to be from my open 40inch tortoise table, also have a thermostat  for temp but what temp should I be aiming for.can you help.

Hello,

I suggest that you read the instructions on, or in, the box.
The 'hot spot' below the UVB bulb at tort level, needs to be 28-30C.

It should be able to go outside in decent weather, avoid full sun.
Which species are you getting & where from ? It's essential to get the source right or poss' huge vet bills.

That's good, so long as you're sure they are genuine. There are many pretend 'breeders' online, e.g. from Essex.
