I have just been and checked on my female Herman tortoise and she has today in her water bowl passed a large amount of mucus ( jelly like) with what looks to be a bit like gristle with a bit of blood at one end.  She is about 10 years old and lives in a tortoise table. She has never done this before so am really concerned. Any ideas what this could be??
