Adoption waiting list
Posted: 07/06/2016 by Jojo22

Hi

I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping to adopt 2 torts to supply a happily ever after home. I've read numerous books, have my equipment and supplements, researched flowers and weeds, got seeds growing in a little greenhouse and in the garden. I will also be making my outdoor enclosure this weekend.

I'm just wondering is there loads of people applying to rehome these torts, I done my research and decided to go for Hermanns. As there isn't many coming up in my area what are my chances of getting one I put in for?
Sorry but I'm gonna be ready for my new addition by Monday and it'll drive me crazy looking at an empty enclosure. Would I be waiting long?

Thanks in advance
Jo

Hello,

It is unwise to obtain any animal in a rush, even if you think that you 'know' all about torts.. If you can't wait a reasonable period, then you will need to purchase some.

This Forum doesn't deal with rehoming.
Click on the "TPG Tortoise Rehoming /" box & follow the instructions carefully.

Tom!

I am not obtaining an animal in a rush,  I didn't wake up this morning an decide to get a tort.   This is a animal I have been interested in and wanted to own since I was a child. It's only now that I have moved into a house with a garden that I have space for one.
And I never claimed to' know' all about torts, so I don't appreciate the attitude. I thought this was a discussion board and was wondering if anyone on here had adopted and wondered if they could fill me in on a rough time scale.

I thought these boards were supposed to give FRIENDLY help and advice,
Jo

That's over-reaction Jo, I acknowledged that you had read numerous books & had some 'equipment', etc., thus you knew about torts., obviously no one knows everything about them.

I got the impression that you were in a hurry from your statement "I'm gonna be ready for my new addition by Monday and  "it'll DRIVE ME CRAZY looking at an empty enclosure. Would I be waiting long ?"
In the context of your Post, I'm amazed that you find my comments unfriendly.

I have explained how to Apply,
Good luck,
Tom
