outdoor heating and lighting
Posted: 19/03/2016 by Frenchie

Hi guys

I have 4 x 12 year old Herman's and I'd like them to live outside all year until i hibernate them. I have had a kennel type house made for them and need to know exactly what lighting and heating they require. I'm thinking uv + basking spot at one end and something cooler at the other end. I'd welcome any advice please.

Hi Tom

These measurements are for the internal space and not the overall structure.
Overall length = 56"    Height = 2ft 3"

This is then divided in to 2 sections, bedding area H = 27" D = 19"  W = 18"
there is a archway leading from bedding area to the larger part, L = 3ft  H = 27"  D = 18" this area has a  door for them to escape outside.
I was thinking basking spot + uv bulb in bedding area say temp of 30 (daytime) 20 (night time) then 20 day and night in larger area + uv combined with 2 magic eyes?
