I am currently halfway through building a tortoise table 1.2metres length x 0.6 metres width. The plan, once the table is finished, is to buy a Hermann tortoise preferably from one of the recommended breeders list on here.

We have a garden that the tort will be able to use in the summer, but he/she will also be kept inside.

I've started looking into lighting and heating and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what bulb to buy?

Will a 100w Mercury Vapour bulb be sufficient to heat, light and provide enough UVB for the whole table?

A 100W Megaray bulb with a "Clamp Lamp" fitting will do the trick. Suspend at 90 degrees.
