i have tortoises of 40 years i have always box up for her sleep in nov after slowing down on her own with no problems.

But this year she was in the house for a long time with looking like she was ready for a sleep so in the end i box her up and put her in the cold room but after only a week or so she decided that she would like to come out.
As off now she has not eaten for weeks and i have try to make her drink should i put her under some heat sauce or leave her, never had this before. Any one having this problem as well as the weather is so mild. very worry she is much loved and having her 40 years i don't know what the best form of action is.

Hello,

You don't mention temperatures, a max/min thermometer is invaluable - re-set daily & keep dated records.

You have 2 choices - use a fridge, or obtain the correct equipment to keep  it warm enough to feed.

You can read about the fridge method by clicking on "The Tortoise / Incl ….." box on the left.

While you decide, gently put it in a bowl of tepid water for a while so that it can drink if it wishes, but don't put it in a fridge for 2 days.

If you decide not to hibe. it - let me know & I'll give you more info..

Regards,
Tom
