He need help I just got a Herman tortoise do I need to leave either the basking light the reptile glo 10.0uvb or heat mat on over night or not help would be great thanks

Hello, None of those, turn off for at least 12 hours. Heat mats should not be used at all for tort's. The Repti Glo bulb needs a reflector & changing every 6 months. It would be better to order 100W Megaray UVB bulb, & a dome reflector. They are far better quality & last much longer. They also provide both heat & light. BUT they can't be used in small vivs. It seems that you have received poor advice. Is it in a 'table' or a vivarium ? Regards, Tom

I got a table and Herman tortoise the 100w basking lamp and uvb tube and inside the table they like a heat plate under some glass on the roof inside where the tortoise sleeps

Are you able to send a photo of the setup please ? I'm not sure what you mean re. where it sleeps. What temp is it below the heat spot ? (at tort level.)
